Kuwait City: The home ministry has said it will not renew the residence permit for non-graduates over the age of 60. The renewal of residence permits has been suspended following the government's decision to renew work permits with an annual fee of 250 dinars and 500 dinars for private health insurance.

The work permit was temporarily extended from 30 days to 90 days due to uncertainty over the renewal of the work permit earlier. They were exempted from the government penalty of two dinars per day for residency violations.

People over the age of 60 are also allowed to switch to a family visa if they meet the requirements. According to statistics, 62,948 people over the age of 60 are employed in the private sector in the country.
