Kuwait City: In response to regional developments and as part of its commitment to environmental safety, Kuwait University has installed radiation monitoring devices in its College of Science, specifically through the Environmental Radiation Center. These sensors are designed to detect and measure radioactive contamination across both buildings in Sabah Al-Salem University City.
University President Dr. Dina Al-Mailem emphasized the institution's dedication to environmental research, highlighting the use of all available technical resources and expert personnel to contribute to national and global sustainable development goals, aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035.
Dr. Haider Behbehani, Acting Dean of the College of Science, stated that the university stands fully prepared to assist national authorities by leveraging its scientific, research, and technical teams. He underlined the college’s commitment to collaborate with government bodies to support radiation and environmental security initiatives.
Dr. Behbehani added that the installation of sensors is a preventive measure taken in cooperation with relevant authorities as a precaution against potential radioactive threats, considering current instability in the region. He concluded with a prayer for the safety and protection of Kuwait, its leadership, and its citizens.
