THE KUWAITIZATION RATE HAS REACHED 99 PERCENT

Kuwait City: Kuwait General Administration of Customs reported that its Kuwaitization rate has reached 99 percent, suggesting that this is part of the government's objective to enhance the capabilities of the national workforce in order to completely qualify them for their employment. The administration made the declaration in reaction to social media claims that it had fired the Kuwaiti consultants.


The administration later acknowledged that the notion may have been sparked by the Civil Service Commission's intention to return seconded consultants to their original companies beginning December 31, 2021. The administration took the required steps to allow several seconded Kuwaiti consultants to return to the Legal Advice and Legislation Department. Due to the administration's need for a consultant, it later employed an expatriate — its sole consultant at the moment. In order to preserve the smooth flow of work, the government also reaffirmed its commitment to clarify misinformation.
