DOMESTIC EMPLOYEES IN KUWAIT FILED 181 COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEIR EMPLOYERS

Kuwait City: The Domestic Workers' Recruitment Regulatory Department of the Public Authority for Manpower said it received 17 complaints from employers against domestic workers last month. The total number of complaints received by the administration from employers against recruitment offices or companies is 183. Statistics show that 181 complaints were received from workers against business owners. The administration referred 63 complaints received from workers to the Judiciary. This includes eight complaints of dismissal.


There are also 37 complaints related to travel documents. The administration has been able to resolve 290 complaints between workers and employers. The administration collected 1,780 dinars to benefit workers and 77,000 dinars from recruitment offices in favor of employers. In addition, the number of offices working for domestic worker recruitment has increased to 420. Last March, 42 offices were licensed. The licenses of five offices have also been suspended.
