GULF COUNTRIES TO REVIVE KUWAIT-SAUDI RAILWAY PROJECT

Kuwait City: A project to build a railway network between the Gulf countries is reportedly being revived after a delay in the past. This was reported by the Oxford Business Group website. According to the report, the railway network will transform trade and relations between countries in the region.

The project has received great impetus since the leaders of the countries agreed to set up the GCC Railway Authority in December. This decision highlights the significant development of railway infrastructure in the region. In 2009, countries in the region agreed to the railway project, but financial problems delayed the project.

Starting from northern Kuwait, it will travel through the cities of Jubail and Dammam in Saudi Arabia to Manama and Doha and then back to Saudi Arabia. The GCC railway project aims to connect the Gulf countries with a 2,177 - kilometer-long railway line that will then travel to its final destination, Muscat, via Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah.
