KUWAIT COASTAL GUARDS DEFEATS IRANIAN PIRATES IN ARMED CONFLICT

Kuwait City:  The General Administration of the Coast Guard defeated the Iranian pirates in an encounter. The group that was hijacking Kuwaiti boats was caught. The information about the pirates was first brought to the operation room by a worker on a Kuwaiti fishing boat off the coast. Upon receiving the information, the Coast Guard team rushed to the scene. The robbers tried to escape when they saw the patrolling team arriving.


However, the patrol team fired shots as a warning to stop the robbers. Sources said the robbers opened fire on the Coast Guard. Eventually the group was subdued and three robbers were arrested. They were referred to the Maritime Security Department of the Coast Guard General Department for further investigation. During the preliminary interrogation, the detainees revealed the details of the robbery.
