BUYING FISH ONLINE, SELLERS ARE ENRAGED

Kuwait City: According to fish market and fishmonger sources, the unpleasant phenomena of selling fish outside of the fish market has resurfaced. Under the guise of unnamed important people, illegal mobile and roving cars have grown widespread.


With an online presence, the manifestations of fraud have taken on a new face, in the absence of oversight and a vigilant eye on the execution of the law, prevention of these manifestations, and consumer protection. They explained that without the application of rules controlling the selling process and without control over the unprecedented incursion into the illegal seafood market, consumers are vulnerable to fraud and deception. 

Because of the awful circumstances behind the reality of their stalls being devoid of fish lovers, and the lack of protection of their rights to sell, the real traders inside the market continue to live in misery. Some street vendors acquire imported fish and prepare it by washing it with water before bagging and selling it as Kuwaiti fish at a higher price.
