49 EXPATS SACKED IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Communications has fired 49 non-Kuwaiti employees, stating that the decision was mutual. According to sources, the non-Kuwaiti employees terminated include seven who are above 60 years old, with the number of expatriate workers replaced by Kuwaitis reaching 13 in 2021.


According to sources, there are presently less than 100 expats working in the ministry, and the ministry is dedicated to the Civil Service Commission's (CSC) Resolution Number 11/2017 on the number of expatriates who would be replaced with Kuwaitis each year. According to sources, copies of decisions to terminate non-Kuwaiti employees as per the replacement policy are sent to the CSC and the Ministry of Finance.
