INTERNET OUTAGE IN CANADA DUE TO MAINTENANCE

  • 10/07/2022

The largest mobile and internet service provider in Canada, Rogers, has expressed regret for the nationwide service interruption that started on Friday.

Tony Staffieri, the CEO of the company, stated that the failure happened after "a maintenance upgrade in our core network."

The Friday night blackout had an impact on banking, emergency services, transportation, and even 911 hotlines and ATMs.

To make connections, Canadians went to coffee shops and libraries.

Most services have now been restored, although the service outage on Friday started at 04:30 local time (08:30 GMT) and lasted for more than 15 hours.
