THREE YEARS IN PRISON OR 3,000 DINARS FINE FOR FILIMING IN KUWAIT WITHOUT PERMISSION

Kuwait City: The number of cases of taking videos and taking pictures without permission without respecting privacy is increasing. The authorities have warned that strict action will be taken in this situation. Such acts are punishable by imprisonment for three years or a fine of 3,000 dinars or both in some cases. The Anti-Cybercrime Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs is in charge of the matter.


Severe legal action will be taken against those who knowingly misuse and defame others by taking photographs without their knowledge or consent. It is a crime not to invade the privacy of others and to spread images and videos using various devices and communication channels. Lawyer Mohammad Dar Al Otaibi said that recently, cases related to filming, whether it is security, humanitarian or any other incident, are increasing and spreading.
