Seven people died in South Korea after becoming trapped in an underground parking garage during floods caused by Typhoon Hinnamnor.

They had gone down to move their cars but were caught in the torrential rain.

Crew members said they rescued two people who had been clinging to ceiling pipes for more than 12 hours.

Typhoon Hinnamnor, the year's strongest cyclonic storm, made landfall in South Korea earlier this week.

On Tuesday night, rescuers had to wade through metres of brown water to enter the nearly completely submerged basement.
