KUWAIT IS RANKED LOWEST IN SURVEY

Kuwait City: Kuwait ranked lower in a survey conducted by the United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Affairs Department to assess egovernment development for the year 2022. Kuwait is in the high development category for e-government this year, up from the very high development category the previous year. Kuwait was ranked 61st in the world and fifth in the Gulf region in the 2022 index, with 0.7484 points.


The survey evaluates e-government development in 193 countries around the world using the E-Government Development Index, a quantitative indicator comprised of three sub-indicators: online service, communications infrastructure, and human capital. 

Each country's performance is divided into four categories: very high, high, medium, and low, with a global average rating of 0.6102. Three Arab countries, on the other hand, are in the'very high' category: the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is ranked 13th globally, Saudi Arabia, which is ranked 31st globally, and Oman, which is ranked 50th globally. The new study found a global trend toward greater reliance on digital governments, with the global average rising from 0.5988 in 2020 to 0.6102 in 2022. Europe maintains its lead with 0.8305, followed by Asia (0.6493) and the Americas (0.6438).
