Kuwait City: In response to a warning from the Qatari Ministry of Health regarding the consumption of fresh or frozen Indian shrimp due to bacterial disease, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition of Kuwait stated that since 2017, this kind of shrimp has been banned from importation into Kuwait.

With the exception of frozen shrimps without a head or shell other than the tail, it was based on the recommendation of the Food Safety committee issued by Ministerial Resolution No. 3 in 2017. The authorities declared that frozen Indian shrimp with the head and tail removed had passed a Kuwaiti laboratory test and been given the all-clear to be consumed by humans.
