DEMAND FOR PRIVATE-SECTOR JOBS AMONG CITIZENS IS INCREASING, THEIR TOTAL NUMBER INCREASED TO 72.32 THOUSAND

Kuwait City: According to official data, the private sector has begun to shake off the dust of the Corona pandemic, as it is seeing a turnout of male and female citizens to engage in work in the sector, as their total number rose during the first six months of this year to 72.32 thousand male and female citizens, as of the end of last June.


The data showed that citizens' demand for "private" work was associated with operations of changing activity centres, with the sectors of accommodation, restaurants, and construction services being the most visible in that process. 

The most notable operations of changing the centres of activities witnessed by the activity of accommodation and restaurant services in the private sector during the first six months of this year, where the number of 5206 citizens who left work in that sector decreased from 42.68 thousand citizens at the end of December 2021 to approximately 37.47 thousand citizens at the end of June Past. 

According to the data, the construction activity is witnessing an unprecedented turnout by citizens, as the number of working citizens increased by 5,151 male and female citizens from January to the end of June 2022, as their numbers at the end of last June amounted to 8,941 citizens, compared to 3790 at the end of December 2021. This means that in just six months, the number of citizens engaged in this activity increased by more than 136%.
