Kuwait City: The Public Authority for Industry shut down 4 factories because during multiple visits, inspectors could not find anyone inside the buildings, indicating that the stakeholder may have closed the factories for unidentified reasons. These factories were in violation of executive regulations, according to the Permanent Committee for Industrial Violations and the Industrial Inspection Department's memo, and operations could only resume after they were removed.

According to the sources, owners will be subject to a severe fine if the violations are not corrected within a month of the date of issuance. On the other hand, the authority has established a permanent committee known as the permanent committee for the appointment of conformity assessment bodies, which is charged with establishing the minimal standards and requirements used to evaluate and appoint conformity assessment bodies (inspection bodies, certification bodies for products, laboratories, and others) in relation to work on the activities required to implement the requirements of technical regulations and documentation.
