Thousands of dead fish washed up along a roughly four kilometres stretch of a beach in Thailand on Thursday. Experts believe that climate change may have triggered a plankton bloom that resulted in the phenomenona. The fish deaths were attributed to the bloom, a natural occurrence that reduces oxygen amount in the water and kills fish by suffocating them, by Thon Thamrongnawasawat, deputy dean of the Faculty of Fisheries at Kasetsart University.
