Massive protests held against mob attacks on women in Indian state of Manipur

In India's northeast state of Manipur, thousands of protesters, mostly women, took to the streets on Saturday to demand the arrest of those responsible for the brutal attacks on two women who had been paraded naked. The protest was addressed by representatives of religious and women's organizations, and was attended by nearly 15,000 people. 

Violence between two ethnic groups has been escalating since May, with more than 130 people killed since the start of the month. The protest was held in the town of Churakhandpur, which is 65 kilometers south of the state capital, Imphal.
