Costa Rican soccer player dies after crocodile attack

Costa Rican soccer player Jesus Alberto Lopez Ortiz, 29, was killed in a vicious attack by a crocodile in Canas River, in front of onlookers, according to a Spanish news outlet, Marca. Police in Santa Cruz reported that the incident occurred after the player had jumped from a bridge that had been closed for fishing due to the presence of a large number of crocodiles.
