Egyptian taxi driver arrested for smuggling female workers from their sponsors’ homes

An Egyptian taxi driver was arrested for smuggling female workers from the homes of their sponsors, to employ them for hours and daily wages in exchange for sums of money.

Sources said that the Residence Affairs Investigation personnel received several reports from citizens about female workers escaping from their homes, so a team of investigation personnel was formed to identify and monitor the areas where the events were reported. They were able to arrest the accused while he was smuggling a maid from her sponsor’s home in the Abu Ftaira area. They referred him to the Investigations Bureau.
