Renting an apartment for an expat worker can be a real financial burden, since the rent usually takes up around 30% of their income. The most recent real estate data shows that the average rent is around 180 dinars for a room and hall, 230 for two rooms and one hall, and 120 for a studio.

Expats who have a limited amount of income are forced to look for low-cost accommodation, thousands of expats live in squalid rooms called ‘partitions’ to save money.
