Sources of the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport explained that it is working on completing the final design of the Fourth Ring Road development project, and it is in its final stages. Through it, the authority aims to improve the performance of the road to accommodate the expected increase in population, and to develop solutions to the traffic congestion that occurs on the road.
The sources told that the development project is one of the most important infrastructure projects that the Roads Authority gives great priority to, due to the importance of the location of the road, which connects many residential areas on both sides of it. The project consists of several intersections with a length of 17 kilometers, starting from the United Nations Roundabout until the Al-Mughira Bin Shuba intersection in the Salmiya area, indicating that the road will have 3 lanes in each direction, and will have 20 bridges, including 15 existing bridges and 5 new bridges.
