In a significant operation, Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs, in coordination with the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 271,400 capsules of the banned psychotropic drug Lyrica.
The operation followed confidential information from anti-narcotics authorities about a suspicious shipment arriving from Hong Kong via Turkish Airlines. Labeled as “personal luggage,” the shipment was flagged for inspection. Upon thorough examination, customs officials discovered the Lyrica pills expertly concealed within clothing packages.
A report was filed, and the seized capsules were handed over to the competent authorities for legal and technical action.
The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation from the dangers of illegal substances and continuing efforts to combat smuggling in collaboration with security agencies.
