During a thorough inspection campaign focused on safeguarding public health, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has shut down 17 restaurants and establishments in Mubarakiya Market. These closures were a result of the distribution of unfit meat and materials for human consumption, which posed severe health hazards. The authority has issued 60 violations against these establishments, and their proprietors have been handed over to legal authorities.
Muhammad Al-Kandari, the head of the Mubarakiya Center, mentioned that the closures were a consequence of numerous violations, such as operating without proper licenses, selling spoiled meat, and utilizing chemical bags for meat storage. Furthermore, there were notable hygiene concerns, including the presence of cockroaches and harmful insects, as well as employees handling food without the required health certificates.
