Dubai: The UAE is experiencing extreme heat today, with temperatures possibly reaching close to 50°C, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The center reported that most regions, except some eastern areas, are likely to see intense heat combined with high humidity levels.
Yesterday, the highest recorded temperature was 46.6°C at Thawiyain in Fujairah around 1:30 PM. Across various regions, temperatures ranged from 40°C to 45°C, highlighting the widespread heatwave gripping the country.
In addition to the soaring heat, residents are also facing strong dust storms, with wind speeds ranging from 15–25 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 45 km/h. The NCM cautioned that the dust storms could significantly reduce visibility and advised motorists to drive carefully.
People with respiratory issues or allergies are urged to take necessary precautions while going outdoors. Humidity levels are also expected to rise, reaching up to 70%.
Meanwhile, mild to moderate sea conditions are expected in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will remain relatively calm.
