The UAE is set to enhance its tourism appeal with the proposed launch of “UAE Grand Tours” — a series of up to 14-day travel itineraries covering all seven emirates. The initiative aims to offer visitors a comprehensive experience of the country’s diverse landscapes, culture, and attractions.
Led by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, a recent meeting in Abu Dhabi discussed the development of these itineraries and a digital platform for curated tourism packages. The project will be implemented in coordination with local tourism authorities and tour operators to promote the UAE as a unified and multifaceted travel destination.
The planned itineraries will cater to various travel interests, including family-friendly activities, cultural heritage, eco-tourism, and adventure tourism. The goal is to increase tourist stay duration and encourage exploration across all emirates.
Discussions also touched on linking the project with visa facilitation, although it remains unclear whether a specific visa will be introduced for the “UAE Grand Tours.” Meanwhile, the Gulf Cooperation Council is progressing with a GCC Grand Tours Visa, allowing tourists to explore all GCC countries on a single visa—similar to the Schengen model.
Tourism has become a key focus in the UAE’s sustainable development agenda. The country witnessed strong sector performance in 2024, with hotel revenues increasing by 3%, occupancy reaching 78%, and guest numbers rising by 9.5%. Additionally, 16 new hotels were launched during the year. The UAE government continues to prioritize tourism through strategic initiatives and international promotions.
