  • 16/06/2025

Abu Dhabi has launched the first-ever Abu Dhabi International Competition for Composition (ADICC), offering a new global stage for emerging and established composers under 50. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and the Abu Dhabi Festival, the initiative aims to nurture fresh talent and contribute to the evolution of contemporary music worldwide.

Composers are invited to submit original, unpublished orchestral works (up to 10 minutes) or solo piano pieces (up to 5 minutes) by 15 September 2025. Finalists will be revealed on 15 December 2025. The top winner will receive AED 130,000 ($35,399), a professional recording, and a world premiere at the 2026 Abu Dhabi Festival. The second and third prizes include cash awards, performance opportunities, and mentorship support.

Entries will be judged anonymously by an esteemed international jury based on creativity, technical skill, emotional expression, and cultural integration. Winning works will also be recorded as part of the festival’s Composers’ Platform, which has championed global composers for over 15 years.
