KUWAITCITY: In an effort to achieve herd immunity, the Kuwaiti government hasaccelerated the vaccination programs to vaccinate 70% of the population at theearliest against COVID-19. With the arrival of Pfizer vaccines every week, thevaccination process has accelerated and is close to cross the 2 million mark.Currently, the number of vaccinated residents stands at 1922000 in number.
The Health Ministry has reported that the results of thevaccination campaign are beginning to show its effect as there is a betterepidemiological situation in the country, a decrease in the number of deaths,and those critically ill in ICU due to COVID.
The authorities have commented on the possibility of theuse of vaccines other than Pfizer and Oxford. Currently, the Moderna vaccine isat the final stages of approval.
