EL SALVADOR TO BECOME THE WORLD'S FIRST COUNTRY TO LEGALIZE BITCOIN

Nayib Bukele, President of El Salvador declared that he would send a bill to Congress for making Bitcoin a legal tender in the country. This will make El Salvador the first country in the world to legalize Bitcoin.

"Next week I will send to Congress a bill that will make bitcoin a legal tender in El Salvador," Bukele said. "In the short term this will generate jobs and help provide financial inclusion to thousands outside the formal economy," the President added.

"This is the shot heard 'round the world for bitcoin," "Adopting a natively digital currency as legal tender provides El Salvador the most secure, efficient and globally integrated open payments network in the world," said Jack Mallers, founder of digital wallet company Strike.
