KUWAIT STRESSES THE NEED FOR A NUCLEAR-FREE MIDDLE EAST

Kuwait City: The Kuwait government declared that the elimination of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction is paramount for peace and stability in the region.

All countries in the region “should commit to a treaty designed to stop the spread of nuclear weapons,” signed back in 2010, said Abdulaziz Al-Khubaizi, the second secretary of Kuwait’s permanent delegation to the Cairo-based Arab League.

Kuwait will be hosting future talks on the matter in New York to emphasize the significance of the affair, said the representative. He also called on the countries of the world to work together for the realization of the global nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
