WITHDRAWAL FROM FUTURE GENERATION FUND DUE TO LACK OF LIQUIDITY

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti government is once again considering withdrawing from the Future Generations Reserve Fund due to the lack of liquidity in the state treasury.

Finance Minister Khalifa Hamadeh emphasized the need for the government and the National Assembly to support the decision to issue bonds and orderly from the Future Generations Reserve Fund, to solve the liquidity crisis in the general reserve as a temporary measure. The authorities hope that this measure gives them enough time for the completion of the reforms contained in the government’s work program.
