Kuwait City: Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Sheikh Faisal Al Nawaf said the ban on cycling on the Jaber Bridge was temporary. Faisal Al Nawaf was on a field tour at Jaber Bridge to check on traffic conditions. Many parts of the country are experiencing severe traffic congestion today following the reopening of schools. Director General of Relations and Security Media Brigadier Tauhid Al Kandari and senior traffic officials took part in the inspection.

Bicycle riding and walking were banned at the Jabir Sea Bridge to protect the safety, life and property of road users. Recent accidents have also led to a temporary ban. Due to the low traffic on the bridge, speeding vehicles are more likely to hit cyclists unexpectedly. Authorities are also considering building a special track for cyclists. The Sheikh Jabir Bridge is the fourth largest sea bridge in the world. The handrail leading to Doha Port is 12.4 km long.
