The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has agreed to establish a humanitarian trust fund for Afghanistan, where millions of people are starving and living in poverty. The international community has frozen billions of dollars in aid and assets as a result of the Taliban's takeover of the country in August of this year."Unless prompt action is taken, Afghanistan would be in chaos," Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan, which is hosting the summit, told a meeting of OIC foreign ministers."Any government that cannot pay its public workers' salaries, hospitals, doctors, and nurses' salaries will collapse, because chaos suits no one, and it surely does not suit the United States."The Islamic Development Bank would lead the drive to free up assistance by the first quarter, according to an OIC decision issued following the summit.
