  • 06/01/2022

Kuwait City: Starting on Friday, January 7, 2022, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs introduced social separation between worshipers in Kuwaiti mosques.

A circular has been issued to the mosque's preachers and imams, instructing them to implement social distancing measures between congregants and to keep the mosque's doors and windows open during prayers. Also, the Friday sermon should not be longer than 15 minutes. The circular also noted that wearing a mask during prayers, utilising a separate prayer mat, avoiding touching others, and maintaining social distance were all recommended.
