IN THE FIRST NINE MONTHS OF 2021, KUWAIT EARNED 11.47 BILLION DINARS IN OIL EARNINGS

Kuwait City: The continued improvement in oil prices provides positive indicators of better performance for the state's general budget, as it achieved a 26 percent increase in oil revenue volume during the first nine months of the year compared to estimated revenues for the entire year, bringing the percentage of oil revenues collected at the end of December to 126 percent, amounting to 11.47 billion dinars, compared to 9.12 billion estimated for the current fiscal year. 


The state budget deficit shrank by 87 percent in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, thanks to rising oil prices that just broke over the $86 barrier. The deficit fell by roughly 4.7 billion dinars from April to the end of December 2021, to 682.4 million dinars, compared to 5.39 billion dinars for the same period previous fiscal year.
