NUMBER OF PEOPLE UNDERGOING DIALYSIS IN KUWAIT INCREASED

Kuwait City: Kuwait celebrates World Kidney Day under the slogan 'Kidney Health for All'. Kidney Day is celebrated with the aim of raising awareness among the community about the most important and most prevalent kidney diseases and the available methods and methods of prevention and treatment for them. 


The aim is to raise awareness about the importance of periodic check-ups in people with diabetes, high blood pressure and those with a family history of kidney disease, as well as those at high risk for kidney disease, Anas al-Yusuf said.

There are an estimated 850 million kidney patients worldwide. In Kuwait alone, there are 2,300 people undergoing dialysis. About 90% of them rely on blood hemodialysis. He noted that 51 per cent of those undergoing dialysis are men and that the overall annual increase in dialysis patients is about six per cent.
