Kuwait City: The Ministry of Commerce has intervened in the Kuwaiti market in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war. According to Kuwaiti media reports, the ministry is studying the ban on exports and re-exports of a number of basic and primary products in the Kuwaiti market as part of effective measures aimed at curbing inflation. Russia's war with Ukraine has pushed up the prices of many products and raw materials in that global market.

The Ministry of Commerce is considering banning exports to alleviate the shortage of essential commodities. Exports of items, including vegetable oil, are set to be banned. In addition, it plans to ban the export of scraps. The price of iron is 220 to 280 dinars per tonne. In addition, exports of used paper and cardboard may be banned.
