68% OF WOMEN IN KUWAIT SUFFER FROM ANXIETY, STUDY REPORT OUT

Kuwait City: Crisis related to Covid epidemic has been found to have serious implications for women, according to a study. The study found that women were more likely to be affected by anxiety and fear. Anxiety levels increased among approximately 68% of sample members. In addition, the study found that approximately 59% of people experienced anxiety related to the possibility of contracting the virus.


Researchers at the Kuwait Center for Studies and Research, Dr. Fawzi al-Shami and Salah al-Hasan studied the subject. Fifty-three percent of female workers and students feared job loss and loss of income. 

Women expressed distrust of health care policies and concerns about government and workplace prevention and protection policies and actions, as well as the increased burden of caring for family members and household responsibilities.
