The social networking platform Instagram has started testing a new feature that allows users to document their age on the platform in order to help it organize the content that appears on the user's page to suit his age.

The platform, owned by Meta Platforms, the owner of the Facebook network, said that it had started in the United States testing a feature that allows the user to ask other users about their age and evidence of the validity of this age, or to use technology to determine the age of the user through his video images.

As part of the experiment, when someone tries to edit their birthday on Instagram from under 18 to over 18, Instagram will ask the user to confirm their age, whether by uploading a photo of their ID card, videotaping themselves, or asking mutual friends to confirm their age. .

The new feature will allow Instagram users to ask any user to select 3 friends or followers who can be asked about their real age, provided that these three people are 18 years old or more.
