EASTERN NEPAL JOLTED BY AN EARTHQUAKE OF MAGNITUDE 6

The Khotang district of eastern Nepal was shaken on Sunday by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0.
However, no damage or casualties were reported, according to officials.

According to the National Seismology and Research Centre, the earthquake with its epicentre in Martinbirta struck Khotang at 8:13 am, 450 kilometres to the east of Kathmandu.

The earthquake's jolt could also be felt in the Kathmandu Valley and the eastern Nepali districts of Morang, Jhapa, Sunsari, Saptari, and Taplejung. 

In April 2015, a devastating earthquake of 7.8-magnitude rocked Nepal, killing nearly 9,000 people and wounding nearly 22,000 others. It also damaged over 800,000 houses and school buildings.
