SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITIES WILL BE INSTALLED AT JLEEB

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Public Works plans to start tendering for sewage treatment in Al Mutla, Jleeb and South Abdullah Al Mubarak. Temporary mobile treatment units will be set up in those areas until these areas are connected to the main sewerage network. Jleeb has become a disaster zone with its dilapidated sewage system.


Plants will be set up to treat the sewage there. The volume of sewage generated in Jleeb alone is estimated to be 24,000 m. The municipality has allocated nine areas in the Jleeb Al Shuwaik region for the installation of around 24 treatment plants to treat wastewater. The tender is expected to be launched in the next two months. Through this, environmental protection in these areas is also targeted.
