PASSENGERS HURT WHILE FLEEING TRAIN IN SPAIN

Ten passengers were injured, three critically, when they attempted to flee a train that became engulfed in a raging wildfire north-west of Valencia in eastern Spain.

Winds have whipped up the fire near Bejs, sending some firemen fleeing for their life.

The passengers were on a train travelling from Valencia to Zaragoza in the north when the fire stopped it.

The train driver asked passengers to remain on board, but several were alarmed.

As he prepared to reverse the train, which had left Valencia late Tuesday afternoon with 48 passengers on board, some broke windows to try to escape as the flames approached.
