STRICT MEASURES TO PREVENT MANIPULATION OF DOMESTIC LABOR CONTRACTS IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Commerce announced that the relevant authorities have finally approved strict measures to prevent manipulation of domestic labor contracts. Employers, citizens and residents have the freedom to choose the method of purchasing travel tickets for domestic workers under the new contract through recruitment offices of domestic workers according to the new pricing.


According to the new decision, the employers will not have to pay the ticket amount at the offices. And each sponsor can book it themselves and forward it to the ticket office as per their choices and wishes. The new contracts announced must ensure the maximum recruitment threshold specified. But this does not include the travel ticket. 

It can be done as per the capacity of the employer. Sources said that the new method is to avoid this as it has been noticed that some domestic worker recruitment offices are falsifying flight tickets. The ministry also directed all payments to be made through K-Net and avoid cash transactions at recruitment offices.
