MORE KUWAITIS ARE EMPLOYED IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS

Kuwait City: Statistics compiled by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) revealed that 18,558 Kuwaitis joined the government sector from January 2021 to the middle of the year 2022, providing clear and distinct evidence that the policy of replacing expatriate workers is moving forward at an accelerating pace and the success achieved during the previous period.


Statistics show that from 354,384 at the end of 2020 to 372,942 by the end of June 2022, there were a total of Kuwaitis working in the government sector. 

Around 12,681 Kuwaitis entered the private sector during the time period in question. Their numbers increased from about 63,240 at the end of 2020 to about 75,921 by the middle of 2022.

Regarding non-Kuwaitis employed in the private sector, between the beginning of 2021 and the middle of 2022, there were about 185,360 non-Kuwaitis who left. Therefore, by the end of June 2022, there would be 1,355,935 fewer non-Kuwaiti workers employed in the private sector overall.

At the end of December 2020, there were approximately one million, 541 thousand, and 295 workers, down from one million, 656 thousand, and 983 workers at the end of 2019.
