NEWBORN BABIES OF EXPATS STRANDED ABROAD

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior has stopped issuing any family visas (dependent and visit) until further notice, leaving dozens of expatriates in a dire humanitarian situation because they are unable to register newborns under their sponsorship who were born in their home countries during the current summer break.


Since the majority of the applicants are teachers who are waiting to return to Kuwait before next Monday, these parents told the daily that the situation threatens family reunification and that requests have been made to the relevant authorities to exclude newborns from the decision. The Ministry of Interior has been urged by dozens of expatriates to examine the situation from a humanitarian perspective.
