KUWAIT AWARDS CONTACT WORTH $50 MILLION IN SEPTEMBER

Kuwait City: According to MEED magazine, Kuwait's contract awards in September were worth $50 million, placing it fourth in the Gulf and sixth overall in terms of contract value. On the other hand, the UAE took the lead in contract award activity in the region in September, with its largest deal value in 2022. With $6 billion in contracts awarded across the region in September, the third quarter of the year saw $16.3 billion in awards, down from $34.1 billion in the second quarter and $19.7 billion in the first. 


In contrast, agreements worth $10.9 billion, $18.3 billion, and $25.9 billion were signed in the first, second, and third quarters of 2021, respectively. In September, the UAE recorded $2.7 billion in contracts awarded, with Abu Dhabi Ports awarding China Harbor Engineering the largest contract worth $560 million for the second phase of its CMA terminals at Khalifa Port.
