Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education announced on Thursday that parents of students who fail to appear in school for more than 20 days without any reason can be arrested. According to a report by Saudi Arabia news agency Mekkah, the school was responsible for referring the student’s guardian to the Prosecutor’s Office, which falls under the kingdom’s Child Protection Law.
