Khaled Al-Subaie, the Chairperson of the Kuwaiti Society for Consumer Protection, has highlighted the recent surge in prices within the local markets. Frozen chicken, for instance, has seen a significant increase from KD 8.900 to KD 15.900 fils per carton.
Additionally, Al-Subaie noted that the price of a specific type of tea, weighing 400 grams, has risen from KD 1.215 to KD 2.565, despite a reduction in weight to 350 grams. Furthermore, the price of washing powder has experienced an approximate 20 percent increase. Al-Subaie has called upon the relevant authorities to intervene and prevent unjustified price hikes, urging them to strictly enforce the law against violators.
