Director of the Funeral Affairs Department in Kuwait Municipality, Dr. Faisal Al-Awadhi, revealed a development plan for cemeteries that includes monitoring them with cameras and expanding the Sulaibikhat Cemetery.

He explained in a statement that “exploiting a used grave is permissible according to Islamic law after the bones have completely decomposed, but there is no need for us in Kuwait to follow this procedure, given the presence of vacant lands.” Special statistics showed that the total number of deaths during 15 years (from 2009 to 2023) amounted to 103,980 deaths, an average of 6,932 during a year.
