The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) is taking steps to address unemployment by introducing a new initiative aimed at boosting the number of Kuwaiti employees in private companies. PAM intends to raise the Kuwaitization quota from 25 percent to 50 percent in private companies, and from 30 percent to 60 percent in private oil companies. Strict penalties will be imposed on companies that fail to comply, including suspension or blocking of the company's file and tripling the amount of fines currently in place.
