In response to escalating tensions following the exchange of attacks between the Israeli occupation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kuwait has reinforced its precautionary measures on various fronts to safeguard national security and maintain public services.
His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah chaired a meeting of the Supreme Defense Council at Bayan Palace for the second consecutive day. The council reviewed the latest regional developments and heard reports from ministers and senior officials on the preparedness of key agencies to manage all possible security scenarios.
The Council stressed the importance of ensuring uninterrupted basic services, securing the supply of essential materials, and facilitating citizens’ and residents’ daily needs, while maintaining overall security and stability in the country.
On the diplomatic front, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya has intensified communications with regional and international counterparts to de-escalate the situation and manage the fallout of rising tensions. In his capacity as Chairman of the current GCC Ministerial Council, Al-Yahya discussed with GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi ways to align Gulf positions and strengthen joint diplomatic efforts.
Additionally, Al-Yahya held talks with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed to coordinate strategies addressing the implications of the Israeli aggression against Iran and its broader regional and global impact.
These efforts highlight Kuwait’s proactive approach to regional security, stability, and the protection of its people during a period of heightened geopolitical uncertainty.
